Handmade Nursery Wall Art Part III : Monkey having fun


Here is the third one in the series of nursery wall art with jungle theme for a baby boy.

Following are the supplies I used for this project:
- Foam Sheets( yellow, orange, green, red and blue)
- Card Stock or any thick paper : brown
(brown foam sheets are preferred but I did not have them)
- Wiggle eyes
- Craft knife
- Glue and Scissors
- Scrapbook Sheets for background


I sketched the pattern for a monkey hanging from a tree. You can use a ready made pattern if you have one. I did not have brown foam sheets so I used card stock for the body. For monkey's face and tummy I used orange foam. Add wiggle eyes and draw the nose and mouth using a permanent marker. The main piece of the project is ready.



I used the same background as in previous ones of the series. Refer my previous posts on instructions to make it. Added a tree and some flowers to complete the look. I used paper punch to punch out circles from foam sheets to make flowers. An adorable wall art is ready to bring smile on your baby's face and yours.

Beautiful clay roses

I made these roses for a friend who had invited me for a ladies only tea party. Daddies took care of the kids while the ladies enjoyed a sunny afternoon and lots of gossip over tea and snacks.It was a lot of fun. My original plan was to make the arrangement in a pretty tea cup ( to go with the theme of the party) but I couldn't manage to get one in time. So it ended up in a glass vase. Supplies used to make the arrangement : - Delight air dry clay - Floral wire - Floral tape - Glass vase - Green marbles - Fillers ( fall bush) To make the rose : Make seven 1/2 inch dia. clay balls. Use your thumb to press them into the shape of the petal.You can refer the template in this post for the petal shape. Take another clay ball and shape it like a tear drop. Father's Day Gift Idea

This is what we made for Father's day. My student's father is a big fan of the game of cricket. So we thought a photo frame embellished with quilled cricket bat, ball and the wickets may be a great idea. This could be a great idea for embellishing scrapbook page for Father's day as well. We used an unfinished photo frame from Michaels craft store and painted it before adding the quilled pieces. We added the letters " DAD" on top to finish the project. We don't know yet if her father liked it. She is working hard to keep it a surprise and may end up giving it to him for his Birthday that falls a week before Father's day.
